The fact that you went alone impresses me beyond words! Your journey sounds horrific, but the conference sounds worthwhile. A lot of firsts! Glad you had a good time once you finally arrived!

My first RWA conference was in San Antonio two years ago. It was so much fun and I didn’t expect it to be. I learned so much. I think it’s great you used this amazing conference to help conquer many fears. A great reward for all that hard work you did! I can’t even imagine the shower. That is CRAZY. Enjoyed the post.

I’ve never been to “The Big One,” but I have attended a smaller RWA conference in Chicag (Spring Fling). I think you do have the courage to do things you are afraid of or nervous about when doing it means a lot. I think the act of publishing itself is like that–putting your work out there for all to see and judge. Thanks for sharing your experiences with us. It was fun traveling with you!
