Why can’t I be like everybody else?

Izzy Alexander stared at the fish swimming, in their virtual aquarium, across her computer screen. While she sat at her desk in Malcolm Campbell’s castle, the soothing scene didn’t calm her as it sometimes did. No, the poor creatures were forever stuck in purgatory, they’d never get anywhere, never accomplish anything. Kind of like her, and her infatuation with Malcolm.

God, how had she fallen head over heels with a man who was in love with someone else, and who couldn’t stand what she was?

Damn, he’s gorgeous in a rugged masculine way, but he was never going to be hers. He leaned against the mantel of a huge stone fireplace in the great hall wearing black dress pants and a green designer sweater, a glass of whiskey in the same hand that had sent desire coursing through her body two years ago at his slightest touch.

But that’s all it had ever been, one night in Scotland, one kiss, the promise of passion.

My Review of Avenge Her

Sophia Kimble had me at a castle, a mysterious, sexy, brooding man who honors his deceased wife for centuries, sisters, and a witch. What’s not to love?

I immediately fell in love with Malcolm. If I wasn’t rooting for Izzy to have him, I might of made a go at the gorgeous Highland Warrior who still clings to family, honor and tradition. Except I’m a married woman—and Malcolm is a fictional man. Although Sophia’s engaging writing style and impressively described scenes often made me forget.

Avenge Her provided a wonderful escape from reality into Sophia Kimble’s world of magic and someone seeking revenge. Could it be Izzy’s retaliation against Malcolm’s rejection of her magic?  The unusual happenings with their Godchild? Well, you’ll have to read it to find out. Sophia will keep you guessing.  (You didn’t think I’d give the whole story away, did you?)

Avenge Her is the second book in the Druid’s curse series, but you don’t have to read them in order. The characters from Protect Her are in Avenge Her, but the story is Izzy and Malcolm’s. I highly recommend them both!

Grandma Must Die

“If you wanted to arrest me, you have more than enough reason to after I opened the chest in the library.” She ran her finger along his arm, tracing a tattoo with her nail.

Her finger sparked with electricity as it skimmed his skin. He took a step back.

“You didn’t look upset about the chest. You looked curious.” Without taking her eyes from him, she reached for the lock on the cabinet door. It fell open in her hand.

His eyes widened in surprise. She opened the doors, and turned to take in the treasures he’d accumulated and then hidden away.

“What kind of magic bounty hunter keeps a collection of magic paraphernalia in their own home?” She looked at him under hooded lids, rolling the lock in her hand. “I’d say one who likes to live on the dangerous side.”

She’s a witch hunting a spell. He’s hunting witches and falling for her.

Carman has worn out more towns and last names than impractical shoes protecting the secret of her magic blood. But when a friend goes missing, and another is infected with a deadly spell, Carman must choose. Expose her magic blood by curing the spell—or stop the infection from spreading by killing the source…the grandmother.

Magic bounty hunter Dylan has scoured libraries of banned magic paraphernalia seeking a method to distinguish genuine witches from impersonators. He suspects unorthodox librarian Carman might hold this information tighter than the hair he’s dying to unleash from her bun. First…my version of ‘zombie’. There’s no flesh eating. I’m more of the candy-eating kind of zombie. I don’t follow the shows or movies about them, so I certainly don’t know the proper zombie etiquette for a costume or behaviors…so I make up my own.

I’ve been many things for Halloween…a cat, a belly-dancer, batgirl, a devil…but almost all the costumes available in the stores-—oh no, shut-it now cause I’m so not sewing—seemed to have the same theme.

 While if you’re a zombie…

• It’s the only time a bad hair day is a good thing cause it’s the look you’re going for
• If your clothes rip or buttons pop from your candy over indulgence- it just looks like part of the costume
• Forgo the napkin or bib during your candy gorging- zombies are messy
• Less trick or treaters to eat your candy—you know you bought what you like, It’s okay to admit it here, you’re among friends— some kids are afraid of the zombie handing it out                            (even when I told them we were nice zombies…still tears and terror…)
• An excuse to glare at everyone you don’t like or threaten to kill them…just playing the part
• The ability to draw all over your face with lipstick and eyeliner and people won’t think you slept with it on
• Introverts rejoice!!! A valid reason not to talk to anyone (insert glare here)… grunt or growl if you must to discourage further attempts at conversation
• No need for stilettos and/or fishnet, heck you could go barefoot with sweatpants if you want—Oh, you had me at sweatpants
